The Texas Accessibility Academy
TAA examines the Texas Architectural Barriers Act, Architectural Barriers Administrative Rules,
the 2012 Texas Accessibility Standards, and their relationship to the ADA and 2010 ADA Standards
What is the Texas Accessibility Academy?
The Texas Accessibility Academy is a comprehensive study of the Texas Architectural Barriers Act (TABA), Architectural Barriers Administrative Rules, and the 2012 Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS). The two-day course also explains how the TABA and TAS relate to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
The course is 16 hours of continuing education. You may register for either one or both days of the Academy (8 CE hours each). For any day you attend, you must attend the entire day to receive the continuing education credit. If you want to attend both days, you must register for both days.
Marsha Godeaux and Jonathan Sparks of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) teach the class on both days. To see the course schedule and learn more, visit TDLR's page about TAA.
